What Does Preheating Cartridges Do?

Have your cartridge sessions been needing an extra little kick? Ever wanted to take 1 hit with the power of 5? Do you just like things fiery?

Well Exxus Vape is getting hot, hot, hot today because we are entering the sizzling world of preheating cartridges in order to get a full understanding of what this option does and how exactly it does it!

Keep reading in this Exxus Exploration of preheating to learn all about the highs and lows of this amazing function for even more control over your sessions!

What Is Preheating On Cartridges?

Preheating on cartridge vaporizers / batteries is a modern function that will set aside a certain amount of time (usually 10 - 15s) where the cartridge is slowly warmed for you.

You aren’t hitting the cartridge during this time, but instead waiting for the countdown to complete, before proceeding to take the preheated hit just as you would a normal cloud.

Preheating is a novel way for batteries to expand upon the temperature options they offer, all without fundamentally changing how the vaporizer works.

The feature is near standard in all of our Exxus 510 threaded cartridge vaporizers as we believe it's an essential tool to have on your pen to have true control over your cartridge materials.

What Does Preheating A Cartridge Do?

So what does preheating the cartridge actually do? When you activate the preheat function your vaporizer / battery is using a small amount of its power to gently heat up the materials in your cartridge over the 10 or 15s duration.

Instead of applying full voltage that would cause the oil to produce vapor, this hovers much lower in order to essentially “toast” the oil for you before consumption. Think of it like airing a bottle of wine, it’s an extra step that while simple can massively improve your experience.

What Effects Does Preheating Have On My Experience?

When it comes to your actual session experience, preheating has several noticeable effects including boosted flavors, increased potency, and larger cloud volume.

As your cartridge’s oil is being warmed to optimal vaporizing temperatures, it is essentially providing the ideal situation for tastes to really come through from the materials and give you access to a deeper connection with your oil flavor profiles.

Since the preheat uses more oil, naturally it is going to create a larger cloud. This will help you achieve a more intense vaporizing experience where the potency of each singular hit you take is massively boosted.

Why Should I Preheat My Cartridges?

Preheating your cartridge has many applications! To give you a bit more of an understanding of the possibilities offered by this awesome functionality we have listed a few below for you.

Out Of Time - Should you find yourself in a rush where you need to enjoy as much oil in as short of a time frame as humanly possible - preheating is here to have your back. Like we said earlier, these hits use more oil and hit much much harder as a result!

The boosted temperature can even change how your oil affects you, so these preheated hits really offer a ton of use for when you are in a time crunch and need to make those hits count!

Combat Cold Temperatures - If you happen to be vaping in a colder climate your oil when dormant can begin to condense and become thicker. This can make it harder for you to pull from the cart and also make the heating take much longer.

To fight back against this, we recommend that you preheat your cartridge to begin with in order to warm the oil and get it ready for prime hitting. The slow application of heat is perfect for activating your oils and will be sure to get things moving for you!

Airflow Maintenance - Another great use for preheating is to run it periodically as an all natural method of cart cleaning / maintenance. The preheat will allow for some clogged oils to soften and subsequently be blown out easier.

This is great to have in your back pocket in case you have any incredibly clogged cartridges that aren’t responding to anything else, just be sure to only run it sparingly this way. If the clog isn’t melted quickly it indicates you may need to take a different cleaning approach.

How Do You Preheat a Cartridge?

In order to preheat your Exxus cartridge all you have to do is click the power button twice (2x) in a row. When successfully input your LED will spring to life and present you with a visual countdown timer like with how the Slim VV 2.0 will glow red until it's ready to hit.

During the preheat your pen will begin to physically warm, so it's important to make sure you don’t forget that you’ve activated the mode and then leave your pen. Anytime you do a preheat, you should take the hit to ensure the oils clear out.

A Preheating Warning

With great power comes great responsibility, which is why we want to point out that too much preheating can result in overheating and the potential clogging of your cartridge!

All good things must have limits, so we recommend using the preheat function every so often instead of doing it for every single hit. If your vaporizer ever gets noticeably warm always make sure to let it sit and cool while powered off until normal.
